All of our products are custom made. We do not start making your sign until you place your order. Most orders ship within 4-6 weeks. We can sometimes accommodate rush orders. If you need your sign sooner please feel free to contact us.
Do to the custom nature of our business we are not able to accept returns on most of our products. However if you are unsatisfied with your sign once you receive it please let us know as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to make you happy.
We ship anywhere in the world. In practice this is only economical for small signs. Larger signs are usually prohibitively expensive to ship overseas. The customer is responsible for all import taxes and duties.
We hope your anniversary sign will not outlast your love, but realistically it will probably outlast your life. If you do nothing to maintain the clear coat which protects the original colors it will eventually darken to a uniform color. This will happen faster if the sign is outside, particularly if it is exposed to sunlight.
The steel frames on some signs are protected with a powder coat finish or an industrial paint system depending on their size. If the frame eventually shows signs of rusting it should be re-painted. If you live in a marine environment please inquire about an arc-spray galvanized undercoating for your frame.
Copper is one of the most long lasting materials on earth. If you do nothing at all to maintain it your copper sign will likely last longer than the house it is attached to. However over time your sign will darken and take on a uniform appearance. This is the natural way copper ages. The letters of your sign are embossed so your sign will still be readable, but the letters won't stand out as much. We apply a UV resistant clear coat which will maintain the sign's original finish as long as it lasts. The clear coat will last for years, but your sign will last for centuries so you may need to apply a new clear coat eventually if you wish to preserve the original colors. Periodically applying a quality clear paste wax may help increase the longevity of the clear coat.
On request we sometimes supply signs with no clear coat so they will achieve their natural coloration sooner.
Most of our signs are provided with screw holes in the corners. Choose fasteners appropriate for the surface you are attaching your sign to. We recommend solid brass, copper or stainless steel fasteners for longevity. For wood surfaces brass round head screws work well. For stone or masonry surfaces small Tapcon screws or an appropriate anchor work best.
We use a high tech adhesive system to attach the copper sign to its steel frame. This is intended as a temporary attachment to hold your sign together until you mount it. The screws hold everything together once it is hung on the wall. If you ever wish to separate the sign from the frame you can gently heat the sign with a hair drier until the adhesive softens enough to separate.
Hanging signs and other signs which will not be hung on a wall are riveted to their frames.
Yes. If you want a sign which will be hung in such a way that it is visible from both sides we basically make 2 signs and join them with their finished faces out. If the sign is to have a frame we make 2 frames from a slightly thinner material and sandwich them on either side of the copper signs.
They require a custom quote for an exact price, but 150% of the cost of the single sided version is a good ballpark. Add a little extra if you want hanging chains.
Most of our signs are designed to be attached a surface so we reduce the cost by not finishing the backs. If you want to hang your sign we can make it with a flat finished back and solid brass hanger chains. Simply add the hanger chains option to your order.
We are happy to extend a 20% discount for the second copy of a sign which reflects the cost of the layout and set up which is already done. If you are interested in a large quantity of the same sign please contact us for pricing. A large number of relatively small signs can be made quite economically.
Ours are actually made of copper! Look carefully at most other manufacturer's signs and you will discover that the only place you find much copper is in the name. The closest most come is copper dust mixed in the paint to make it look like copper. Most signs that describe themselves as copper are actually painted aluminum, or sometimes plastic foam. They can be attractive, but they lack the durability and authenticity of a real copper sign.
